Independent Lifeline page

Already applied? Find the right next step

Separate an eligibility question from a provider order, shipping or activation question before you start another application.

Your starting point

This website cannot look up your application or account. Use this page to identify the right organization and prepare the questions you want to ask.

No application, account change or eligibility decision takes place on this website. Official resources appear at the end of the page.

Identify what you are waiting for

An eligibility application, a company enrollment, a device order and an activation request are different things to ask about. Write down which step you completed and where you completed it. Keep any reference number privately with your own records.

Do not paste an application number, date of birth or account screenshot into this website. The aim is to help you frame a clear question for the organization that holds your record, not to collect the record here.

Choose the appropriate support route

USAC lists application status, qualifying documents, recertification and household-worksheet questions among the topics handled by its Lifeline Support Center. Questions about a phone, device, service or bill belong with the phone or internet company.

The official support resources are at the end of this page. If you only need to understand a document request, read the document checklist first and compare it with the actual notice you received.

Prepare a useful support question

A concise question is easier to resolve than several conflicting explanations. Describe the step you completed, the response you saw and the issue you need clarified. Use the organization’s authenticated support process for any private details it requests.

If you receive a new request, read it before opening another application. A new submission is not a status lookup. This page cannot tell you to disregard a deadline or decide whether an application is approved.

Keep your next action focused

Use the application-mistakes page for preparation issues, the provider comparison for service questions, and the existing-service hub if you already have Lifeline. These paths explain different decisions rather than repeating the same application step.

Once you have an answer from the appropriate organization, use its instructions as the basis for your next action. This website cannot expedite shipping, change verification records or promise an approval date.
